ABSTRACT
Every year millions of animals are used for experimental research purpose all over the world.[1] The issue arises for long time during the experiments due to the pain, distress and death experienced by animals and it also requires skilled person to handle animals, is time consuming and is expensive process so non-animal models are preferred over animal models.[1] The most commonly used non-animal models comprised of in-vitro models, in-silico models, non-vertebrate models, organ-on-a-chip and disease-in-a-dish model and volunteer studies.[2] In comparison to animal testing in-vitro testing models favours higher accuracy, greaterversatility, rapid turnaround and ethical benefits.[3]
sometimes the result produced in animals by any active ingredient present in the dosage forms may not always directly apply to humans. In these tests the response can be recorded in days while the animals can take months.[3]
