UNANI MODALITIES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PSORIASIS (DA’US-SADAF) - A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Psoriasis (DA‟US-SADAF) is a common disfiguring, inflammatory and chronic auto immune skin disorder with a worldwide distribution. The prevalence of psoriasis in adults varies from 0.44to 2.8%.In classical unani literature psoriasis is termed as Taqashshur-e-jild, which is caused by predominance of black bile and characterized by dryness of the skin and scale formation. Various topical as well as systemic unani formulations are effectively used in the management of psoriasis. In Unani System of Medicine, the use of drugs that purify the blood and normalizes skin metabolism by strengthening its faculties is the mainstay of treatment for psoriasis. This article presents a successful managed case of psoriasis in the form of a case report by
unani formulations of Hamdard laboratories.
