MANAGEMENT OF SIDMA KUSHTA THROUGH PANCHAKARMA W.S.R TO GUTTATE PSORIASIS – A SUCCESSFUL CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Skin disease are always a primary concern to the victim. Chronicity and difficulty in management along with the tendency of reoccurrence make them challenging, Skin disease occurs about 20-30 % of general population. According to Ayurveda, Vyadhi or disease has been defined as the state in which both the body and mind are subjected to pain and misery. Kushta is one among Ashta Mahagata, Santarpanajanya & Raktapradoshaja vikara. Sidhma kushta is one among eighteen Kshudra roga is a major hurdle to the medical system due to varied symptoms and high occurrence rate. Most of the symptoms of Sidhma Kushta can be seen in psoriasis and due to its
chronicity and unpredictable course of symptoms and triggering factors it needs an intensive management. Thus it is necessary to deal with this considering all the factors like Dosha, Desha, Kala, Bala etc. Hence Sodhana, Shamana and Bahir parimarjana chikitsa with proper Rasayana sevana can be adopted. Shodhana dravyas are having the properties of Ashukari i.e. immediate action. If Shodhana is administered properly it pacifies the disease, destroys the disease and increases the Bala and Varna. Where Kushta is one of the Vyadhi i.e. Bahu dosha lakshanas are present hence Panchakarma is important. In this article, a diagnosed case of Sidhma kushta was taken and managed through Panchakarma.
