ABSTRACT
Aim: The current paper included the design and evaluation of sustained release matrix tablet of ticagrelor using different polymer such as HPMC K100, xanthan gum, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and talc. Materials and Method: Laboratory scale six batches was prepared. Tablet form each batch were evaluated with different post evaluation parameter. Micromeritics properties also performed on powdered blend before the tablet compression. Result and Discussion: The result obtained gives information that batch 2 with ratio of HPMC K100 and xanthan gum as 75:40 retard the drug release to some extent. Drug release followed the non-fickian type of drug release. Conclusion: A systematic study using different batches revealed that by selecting a suitable composition of HPMC K-100
polymer and xanthan gum the desired dissolution profile could be achieved.
Keywords: HPMC K100, Ticagrelor, sustained release matrix tablet.
