STABILITY INDICATING RP-HPLC METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF ADAPALENE AND BENZOYL PEROXIDE IN BULK AND PHARMACEUTICAL DOSAGE FORM

ABSTRACT
A simple, Accurate, precise method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of the Benzoylperoxide and Adapalene in bulk and Gel dosage form. Chromatogram was run through Std Azilent 150 x 4.6 mm, 5. Mobile phase containing Buffer 0.01N DiSodium hydrogen phosphate: Acetonitrile taken in the ratio 55:45 was pumped through column at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. Buffer used in this method was 0.01N Na2hpo4 buffer. Temperature was maintained at 30°C. Optimized wavelength selected was 245.0 nm. Retention time of Benzoylperoxide and Adapalene were found to be 2.195 min and 3.042 min. %RSD of the Benzoylperoxide and Adapalene were and found to be 1.3% and 0.6% respectively. %Recovery was obtained as 100.13% and 99.99% for Benzoylperoxide and Adapalene respectively. LOQ values obtained from regression equations of Benzoylperoxide and Adapalene were 0.30, 0.91 and 0.03, 0.08 respectively. %Assay was obtained as 100.96% and 100.43% for Benzoylperoxide and Adapalene respectively. Regression equation of Adapalene is y =88869x + 28766, y = 66724x + 1072 of Benzoylperoxide. Retention times were decreased and that run time was decreased, so the method developed was simple and economical that can be adopted in regular Quality control test in Industries.
