A CASE REPORT ON MANAGEMENT OF TANDAVA VATA (LEVODOPA INDUCED DYSKINESIA) THROUGH PANCHAKARMA

ABSTRACT
Levodopa Induced Dyskinesia is a form of dyskinesia associated with levodopa which is a drug of choice in contemporary science to treat Parkinson’s disease. It is characterized by often hyperkinetic movements including chorea. In this case study a male patient came to OPD and was diagnosed for Tandava Vata. He was given management like Shirobasti, Sarvanga Abhyanga, Sarvanga Shashtika Shali Pinda Swedana and Rajayapana Basti in Kala Basti pattern for 24 days along with some oral medications. The patient showed marked improvement in his symptoms. It was a conclusive study to show the panchakarma modality management along with oral Ayurvedic medications has been found profitable in improving quality of life of patient.
