ALKALOIDS ISOLATE FROM MARINE MICROBE AND FUNGI
Shubhra Singh*
ABSTRACT
This review outlines the research that was carried out regarding the isolation of bioactive alkaloids compounds from marine-derived bacteria and fungi. For the investigation 768 publications being surveyed. In the study it has been found that Endophytic organisms featured heavily. Indeed, bacteria producing antimicrobial secondary metabolites may prevent pathogen dissemination by occupying the same ecological niche. There was also a strong focus on fungi as a source of active alkaloid class compounds. Alkaloids are structurally large diverse group of compounds that have served as scaffolds for important antibacterial drugs such as quinolones and the metronidazole. Drug developer researchers will play a major role in marine microbial natural products drug discovery in years to come.
