PHYTO-CONSTITUENTS AND PHARMACOLOGICAL PROFILE OF FICUS SPECIES –A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Ficus is the largest genus of 875 species and is one of the largest genera of flowering plants belonging to Moraceae. They are also known as fig trees or figs. In India, 115 species are recorded so far, out of which maximum diversity lies in the North-East region. The present article depicts different Ficus species found in India along with taxonomic classification, geographical distribution, and pharmacological activities of the individual species.
