POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME AND ITS LIFE STYLE MODIFICATIONS: AN OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT
Polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos) is a complex condition characterized by increased androgen levels, menstrual irregularities and or small cysts on one or both ovaries.. The exact cause of pcos is unknown. Irregular menses, Excess androgen levels, High stress levels, High blood pressure, Acne, oily skin, Insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Pelvic pain, Hirsutism are the signs and symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome. Pcos presents as a phenotype reflecting a self-protecting vicious cycle involving neuroendocrine, metabolic and ovarian dysfunction. Hence in this article an attempt has been made to review the treatment and lifestyle modifications of polycystic ovarian syndrome.
