FORMULATIONS OF TRANSDERMAL PATCHES OF FLUCONAZOLE

ABSTRACT
Transdermal patches of fluconazole was prepared using different ratios of HPMC 5cps, HPMC 15 cps by using solvent casting method and plasticizer (PEG 400). The drug matrix film of HPMC 5cps and 15 Cps was casted on PEG400 backing membrane that was dried previously. Further, The formulations were done for evaluation studies, in vitro drug release studies. The physico chemical compatibility of the drug and the polymer studied by IR spectroscopy. Variations in drug release profiles among the formulations studied were observed. In Vitro permeation studies were performed by using franz diffusion cell. Formulation f1 was chosen for further studies it follows korsmeyer
peppas model with regression time 1. other formulations F2,F3,F4, F6 0.987, 0.962, 0.978, 0.99, 0.982 showing drug release 99.6±0.01257, 89±0.02677, 55±0.3298, 63±0.00286, 51±0.191, 95.7±0.963 respectively.
