PREPARATION OF KADALIKANDA KSHARA AND ITS ACTION IN KARNINI YONI VYAPAT

ABSTRACT

Kshara one among the anushastras as described by Acharya Susruta is having an important role in treating many of the diseases like Karnini, Yoni Arsha, etc. Kshara is considered as Sreshta, as it can traverse even the difficult of the areas which are difficult to reach by normal measures. Many descriptions are available regarding the properties, preparation, uses of various Ksharas. Acharya Susruta has explained the method of preparation, properties, etc of Kshara in detail in Ksharapakavidhi adhyaya. The Kshara preparations are effective in treating many of the disorders and are being used in place of modern cauterization technique and surgeries in some of the conditions. Kshara is derived from plants, minerals, etc. In the present paper an attempt is made to describe the preparationof Kadalikanda Kshara which is described as one among the Kshara by Acharya Susruta and its mode of action in Karnini Yoni Vyapat.
