ABSTRACT
In the present work, simple sensitive UV Spectrophotometric absorbance ratio method has been developed for the simultaneous estimation of Azelnidipine and Telmisartan in bulk and Pharmaceutical formulation. Absorbance ratio method is based on the measurement of absorbances at two wavelengths; One being the wavelength of equal absorptivity of the two components (λ1) i.e. an Isoabsorptive point and the other being the λmax of one of the two components (λ2). Two wavelengths 276 nm (Isoabsorprive point) and 255 nm were selected for the estimation of Azelnidipine and Telmisartan respectively. The analysis of Azelnipidine and Telmisartan in sample formulation gives
satisfactory results of 7.65 mg and 39.23 mg of Azelnipidine and Telmisartan, which complies with the label claim of 8 mg of Azelnipidine and 40 mg of Telmisartan. Beers law was obeyed in the concentration range of 2-16 μg/ml for both the drugs. Linearity was found with r2 = 0.994 and 0.995, LOD were found 0.4 μg/ml and 0.2 μg/ml for Azelnidipine and Telmisartan respectively.
