It is highly beneficial to mother and child both, as it is sterile and has less chances of contamination or getting infected. Early, thick, yellowish coloured milk, called Piyusha (colostrum) has great importance itself as it is rich in nutrients as well as immunoglobins which provide immunity against various diseases. Breast feeding also reduces risk for Cancer of cervix, uterus, ovaries and breast in females. Proper breast

Its active principles consist of some alkaloids, flavonoid quercetin which relieves vascular congestion. It also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic action which reduces pain. As there is no satisfactory treatment in modern medicines till date, detail study and further research needed on this promising drug for effective management.
