PANCHAGAVYA AS BIOFERTILISER – REVIEWED ARTICLE

ABSTRACT
Panchagavya is a combination of 5 products obtained from the cow. It is made by the fermentation of cow dung, cow urine, milk, curd and ghee which is used in traditional medicine extensively. It is an organic product which enhances the growth and provides immunity for the plant system. It plays a significant role in providing resistance against pests, diseases and fertility of the soil. It is a cultured mixture produces the beneficial microbes mostly lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus), the yeast (Saccharomyces), the actinomyces (Streptomyces), the photosynthetic bacteria (Rhodopseudomonas) and certain fungi
(Aspergillus) naturally which promotes the growth and yield in different crops. Generally, the chemical pesticides and fertilizers influences the biochemicals in the plants and they do harm for the consumers and they pollute the atmosphere but panchagavya being a naturally produced mixture does not cause any harm.[1]
