A CRITICAL REVIEW ON CAUSES OF FEMALE INFERTILITY – AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE

ABSTRACT

Infertility is the failure to conceive even after one or more years of regular unprotected coitus or to carry a pregnancy to full term. Infertility is a real challenge for medical science in present era. In Ayurveda it has mentioned that Vandhyatva. There are several references in Ayurveda literature. Beginning from vedic era failure of conception is a considered as a disease and need to be treated. Nidanas for stree vandhyatva is well explained in Ayurveda. Understanding the causes and staying away from those habits are important factor on treatment. This paper will contains detail explanation of causes of female infertility with critical analysis.
