REVIEW ON NOVEL RESEARCHES AND ADVANCEMENTS IN ZEBRAFISH THERAPY
Anju V.*
ABSTRACT
Zebrafish is emerging as a prominent model for clinical-preclinical research studies. The current review focusses on the newer researches in zebrafish therapy and their advancements for the future developments. It focusses on the screening techniques in zebrafish and the role in genetic screening and disease identification. The studies help to identify the gene functions and disease phenotypes. Screening helps to identify the mutations occuring and can develop methods to overcome the disease. The zebrafish researches are extensively studied in toxicity profiling studies which includes neuro toxicity, ototoxicity, ocular toxicity etc. Now zebrafish avatars are extensively used for
oncological studies which was a major brekthrough in research. Various avatars are being developed these days but the smaller size, space, transparency and availability of zebrafish avatars will develop into newer drug research and developments in the near future. The advantages, drawbacks and significance of the study in the current scenario was clearly discharged. The greater number of studies in single arenas of zebrafish research paves the way for future drug development.
