ABSTRACT
Throughout Asia, Africa, and Australia, Gymnema Sylvestre can be found as a member of the Apocynaceae family of plants. This herb has a long history of usage in traditional medicine for a variety of ailments. Due to its wide range of therapeutic applications, it's still being utilized as a dietary supplement today. Traditional and Ayurvedic medicine both employ it because of its blood glucose-reducing properties. Phytochemicals as german, gymnemic acid, and gymnema saponins provide glucose-reducing action. There are numerous more beneficial effects of Gymnema Sylvestre besides its antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It is also known to be gastroprotective, anticancer, and to help decrease cholesterol when taken orally. In this review, Gymnema Sylvestre and its chemical ingredients are discussed in depth in terms of its therapeutic potentials' various pharmacological and clinical applications.
