ABSTRACT
Throughout history, many different cultures have recognized the potential use of Tribulus terrestris for prevention and treatment of various diseases. Recent studies support the effects of Tribulus terrestris and its extracts in a wide range of applications. It has diuretic, aphrodisiac, antiurolithiatic, immune modulatory, anti-diabetic, absorption enhancing, hypo lipidemic, cardio tonic, nervous system tonic, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, anticancer, antibacterial, anthelmentic, parricidal, and anti-cariogenic activities. However, the extract mechanism of Tribulus terrestris and their long term effects are not fully understood. This study was conducted to determine the effect of tribulus terrestris extracts on
urinary risk factors in normal subjects and urolithic patients. Modern treatment investigation for kidney stones are wrought with side effect, hence the need for alternative therapies such as plant based medicines. We have to documented through in vitro biological evaluation of plant tribulus terrestris (Zygophyllaceae family) possesses urolithiatic. To prepare experimental kidney stones (calcium oxalate stones) by homogeneous precipitation then preparation of semi-permeable membrane from farm egg, then to estimation of calcium oxalate by titrimetry.
