PHARMACOGNOSTICAL AND PHYTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF GOKSHURADI VATI - AN AYURVEDIC POLYHERBAL FORMULATION

ABSTRACT
Background: Vajeekarana, a unique branch of Ashtang Ayurveda is targeted at the superlative fertility, potency and healthy progeny which is the primary goal of every couple from ancient time. Contextually within the same domain, the full explanation of shudhha shukra, Ashtavidha Shukradusti and its administration are described. Aims and objective: To evaluate the pharmacognostical and phytochemical of gokshuradi vati. Material and methods: Experiments were performed on authenticated plant materials, following standard procedures. Result: In the present study Gokshuradi vati subjected to confirm its quality and purity, pharmacognostical and phyto-chemically. Results revealed the specific characters ie. starch grain, brown content, epicarp
cells, spoon cells, stone cells, Atmagupta and Kokilaksha simple starch grains; Satavari showed acicular crystal; Gokshura showed brown content debris. Conclusion: During pharmaceutical procedures of production of Gokshuradi Vati, pharmacognostic results confirmed the components in the final product and no significant changes were made in the microscopic structure of the raw medication.
