MODUS OPERANDI OF GROUNDWATER PROSPECTING

ABSTRACT

There are many modus operandi for ground water prospecting using geological, hydro geological, geochemical, geophysical methods are used to deal the groundwater potential. The analysis of GIS and remote sensing data and photographs are very important tools for interpretation of the area of interest. Ground water is the fundamental unit of life because modern civilization totally depends on ground water in the form of well boring tube well etc. in present scenario with increasing population the ground water level is going down day by day. So it is necessary to analyse, interpret and conserve the prime resource of life for present and future generation. It burning topic of state and central government to conserve water and maintain the water level. So government are now focusing on it so the modern techniques like GIS and remote sensing with another technique are being used to know the hydrological condition.
