ABSTRACT
“Kushta” is the broad heading under which all the skin diseases of Ayurveda have been discussed in detail. Psoriasis is an autoimmune proliferative skin disease affecting approximately 2% of the world population. The overall incidence of Psoriasis in India, among total patients attending skin OPD's is 0.28 to 0.44%. Even though allopathic science treats psoriasis with various medications & ultraviolet therapy (PUVA) it has high recurrence rate and life threatening side effects like hepatic failure, renal failure, bone marrow depletion etc, whereas, Ayurvedic science provides safe and effective remedy. This present case report is
of a 52 year old male patient having signs & symptoms of psoriasis\(Kitibha Kushta) which showed encouraging & promising results after Virechana Karma and Shamana Chikitsa.
