A CONCEPTUAL REVIEW OF CHATURVIDDHA SIDDHANTA AND ITS APPLICATION

ABSTRACT
Ayurveda the oldest medical science developed in India around the period of 2000-1000 BC. In Ayurveda there are many Siddhantas which create strong foundation for emergence and survival of this life science. Siddhantas are applied to fulfill the aim of Ayurveda i.e., “Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam Aturasya Vikara Prashmanam”. Siddhanta is described as one of the Vadmarga in Charak Samhita in Rogabhishakjiteeya Adhya of Viman Sthan. These Siddhantas are classified into four types namely Sarvatantra, Pratitantra, Adhikarana and Abhyupagama Siddhanta. In this review article a conceptual study on the Chaturviddha Siddhanta of Ayurveda and its application is explained with example to understand it.
