ABSTRACT
Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed non-skin cancer in women and has become one of the leading causes of death in women over the age of 40 years. Clustered micro calcifications are often an early sign of breast cancer but are not breast-cancer-specific. The characteristics of clustered micro calcifications are the main parameters for classifying lesions on mammograms. A key diagnostic feature for mammography, seen in 30% to 50% of women with biopsy-confirmed breast cancer, is micro calcification (Morgan et al., 2005).
