AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF VANDHYATWA W.S.R. TO SECONDARY INFERTILITY: A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
The theories and basic concepts of Ayurveda are found in many classical Indian texts which developed through the evolution of Vedic period. Ayurveda mainly focuses towards the restoration of health. Classical Ayurvedic texts emphasizes on reproductive health of female along with all other physical and mental disorders affecting humans. A healthy woman represents healthy society and thus helps to make the nation healthy as a whole. Women go through many hardships in life, physical as well as mental; and one of them is failure to conceive and give birth to a child. In Ayurveda, infertility is termed as Vandhyatwa and we see many cases of infertility rising in this modern era, probably
due to the changed lifestyle. For such cases, Ayurveda offers many different treatment modalities. In this regard, present case study reports a successful treatment of secondary infertility using Ayurvedic therapies.
