Abstract

KRUTANNA VARGA WITH REFERENCE TO BHAVAPRAKASHA

ABSTRACT

Ahara plays an important role in the treatment of the disease or prevention of disease. Ahara comes under trayopasthamba in Ayurveda. Ahara is explained under pathya kalpana, krutannavarga and aharopayogi dravya by different Acharya. Krutannavarga is one such topic where different preparations with properties are explained. Krutanna varga is explained in Charaka samhita, Sushruta samhita, Astanga Hridaya, Astanga Sangraha, Yogaratnakara, Sharangadhara samhita, Kashyapa samhita and Bhava prakasha. Among all these references bhava prakasha has different view on krutannavarga. In Bhava prakasha, Krutannavarga explained in Purvardha 17 chapter. In this chapter author has explained paribhasha and different types of krutanna varga with their method of preparation and properties.
