ABSTRACT
The review article deals with theoretical forms of Derivative UV-Spectrophotometry. The technique rise significance using the first and second derivative of the transmission spectra with regard to wavelength. Achieved optical derivatives are compared to the known numerical derivatives. The derivative spectra from 1st to 4th are subsequently discussed. This serves valuable vision into the uses and limitations of this technique for chemical analysis. Measurement techniques and technique of obtaining derivative spectra are explained. The degree of polynomial apply on the smoothness of derivative spectra and signal-to-noise ratio is expressed. Application of UV derivative spectrometry for assurance of single and multicomponent
analysis is shown. Derivative spectrophotometry probably improves the selection and sensation of determination which has been illustrated.[2]
Keywords: Derivative UV-Spectrophotometry, First Order Derivative spectra, Second Order Derivative spectra, Third Order Derivative spectra, Fourth Order Derivative spectra and area under curve. [2]
