ABSTRACT
Thiazolidinedione is a heterocyclic organic compound and is a powerful and clinically important new class of anti-diabetic drugs. Thiazolidinediones are the agonists of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR)- γ. Thiazolidinediones possess a numerous biological activity including anti-diabetic, anti-malarial, anti-tubercular, anti-cancer, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory activities. Therefore, it is required to collect certain recent information in order to understand the pharmacological activities of newly synthesized thiazolidinediones and also to synthesize more active prototypes with efficient activities.
Keywords: Thiazolidinediones, PPAR-?, Anti-diabetic, Anti- microbial, Anti-cancer, Anti-inflammatory, Antitubercular, anti-oxidant, HIV-1-RT inhibitors.
