REVIEW ON BHASMA VIJNANA-A TREATIES ON RASASHASTRA

ABSTRACT
Rasa shastra forms the basic of ayurvedic pharmaceutics. In ancient Ayurveda, the emphasis has been over the herbs and their therapeutic usages. Later on the animal products, metals and minerals started to find favour of the Ayurvedic practitioners. Bhasmas are microfine powders of incinerated metals and minerals that are therapeutically useful in different disease conditions since centuries. Ample literature is available in sanskrit texts containing matter of preparation of medicines using minerals and metals. Bhasma vijnana is one among important book written by Harisharananad comprises of two parts. First part is entitled as Adhyaya and having 8 chapters. Second part is entitled as Pada which contains 3 pada. The present paper is a frame
work of Bhasma Vijnana, providing the information about text and peculiarities.
