AN OVERVIEW OF CASSIA AURICULATA

ABSTRACT
The term medicinal plant includes varies types of plants used in herbalism (Herboligy or Herbal medicine). It is the use of plants for medicinal purposes, and the study of such uses. Recently, WHO estimated that 80% people worldwide rely on herbal medicines for some aspect of their primary health care needs. Indian Meteria Medica includes about 2000 drugs of natural origin almost all of which are derived from different traditional systems and folklore practices. 400 are of mineral and animal origin while the rest are the vegetable origin. Cassia auriculata is used for long periods in various diseases
therapeutically. In this article, the pharmacognostical, phytochemical and pharmacological reviews were present in order to know the medicinal value of the plant, which help for future research purpose.
