ABSTRACT
Epilepsy is the most common neurologic disorder that requires continuous treatment and special attention during pregnancy. Anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) are commonly prescribed for epilepsy but during pregnancy AEDs use associate with teratogenicity. AEDs induce major congenital malformations (MCMs) in infants of women with epilepsy. Therefore there is a change in the prescribing pattern of AEDs before and during pregnancy in women with epilepsy (WWE). This article aims to review on prescribing pattern of AEDs in pregnant women with epilepsy (PWWE).
