A REVIEW ON CONTROLLED DRUG RELEASE FORMULATION: SPANSULES

ABSTRACT

Spansules are the dosages form which are modest and advanced drug delivery system. Multiple drug can be delivered by the Spansules capsule. Spansules are made up of hard gelatin capsules and its contains active medicaments in the form of granules or mirco-pellets. The outer gelatin shell provide stability to granules and release drug at the required time. Spansules are dissolves slowly (having slow dissolving rates) and follows up the zero order kinetics and also providing plasma drug concentration constantly followed by controlled release of drug.[1]
