ABSTRACT
In the past two decades, significant advances have been made in the field of immunology. A better understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms that control the immune system opens the door to many promising new and innovative cancer therapies that manipulate the immune response. Here, we examine some of the immunotherapies currently being used or tested to treat cancer, and we examine the available evidence on the mechanisms and efficacy of these treatments. In this review, we will look at all types of immunotherapies for treating cancer and their mechanisms, FDA approval status, and strategies.
Keywords: Cancer, immunotherapy, immunomodulators, cell therapy.
