A CASE REPORT ON BULLOUS PEMPHIGOID

ABSTRACT
Background: Bullous pemphigoid is an auto-immune chronic skin disorder. The characteristic feature of this disease is the appearance of blistering, urticarial lesions and itching over the affected part. This disease mainly affects elderly population. The etiology of this disease is unknown. A 84 year old female patient came to the hospital with complaints of fever and blisters with swelling over her body for the past three days. The patient is taking medication for diabetes and hypertension. Physical examination by the dermatologist revealed the presence of various bullous lesions filled with fluid, distributed
particularly over the trunk and under arm-pit. The symptomatic treatment was given to the patient which include corticosteroids, Analgesic agents and antibiotics. Patient was symptomatically better.
