Pervej Ali, Dr. R. B. Goswami and *Manoj Kumar Sahu

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate phytochemical activity like presence of alkaloids, glycosides, carbohydrate, protein, phenols, triterpenoids, tannins which is responsible for therapeutic action of the drug. Identify the chemical which is responsible for the Analgesic activity in Allium Cepa oil using different quantity. To investigate the effect of Allium Cepa oil on analgesia using different pharmacological model like Hot plate method, Tail immersion method and Acetic acid induced writhing. To identify the pharmacological activity of Allium cepa oil and open path for the further study on this drug. Methodology: In this research work we used three model hot plate method, tail flick method, writhling test for determine analgesic activity. Diclofenac sodium and tramadol are the drugs used as a Standard drug. Allium cepa oil is used as a test drug for determine the activity in amount 300mg/kg and 600 mg/kg. Results: In this study data show allium cepa oil show significant reduction in the pain while allium cepa oil was used for determine analgesic activity. Allium cepa oil show significant reduction in pain 30 to 60% in the pain sensation while the amount of the drug used 300 mg/600 mg per kg. Conclusion: The studies data support significant inhibition of pain using allium cepa oil for analgesic activity. The formation of suitable dosage form and use on the animal models will be increase the chance of better results.

Keywords: Alpha amylase, Analgesic Activity, Allium Cepa oil, Hot Plate method.
