CONTRIBUTION OF AYURVEDA TO MODERN DISSECTION METHOD

ABSTRACT

Anatomy is broadly appreciated as being one of the cornerstones of medical education. Learning anatomy through the dissected cadaver is viewed as the uniquely defining feature of medical courses. Explosion of knowledge in the field of medicine was feasible only due to exploration of human body through cadaver dissection. Sushruta was a strong supporter of human dissection as evident from his texts. His texts include a systematic method for the dissection of the human cadaver. He was mastered from extensive human dissection which he skilled despite religious interference.
