A REVIEW ON:- HELMINTH, ANTHELMINTICS AND RESISTANCE TO SYNTHETIC ANTHELMINTICS DRUGS

ABSTRACT
Helminthiasis is the most prevalent worm-borne infection that causes contamination of human body parts. The worms normally reside in the intestines, liver, and other organs. Albendazole, mebendazole, thiabendazole, niridazole, dietylcarbamazine, ivermectin, and praziquantel are among the currently available anthelmintic medications used to treat helminthiasis. Hepatotoxicity, loss of appetite, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, headache, and diarrhoea are all major side effects of these medicines. As a result,
it is vital to seek out more effective solutions. Antihelmintic medications with the fewest possible negative effects. Traditional medicines and plant extracts are utilised by 80% of the world's population to address their primary health care needs, and the active ingredients are used to meet those needs. The role of traditional herbs in helminthiasis is the subject of this review when it comes to the treatment of helminthiasis.
