ADAPTATION AND LIMITATION OF RITUCHARYA IN THE PRESENT SCENARIO

ABSTRACT
For the maintenance of good health, Ayurveda postulates various practices regarding diet and behavior an individual should follow under the heading of Dinacharya, Ritucharya etc. Ritucharya tells about various practices or regimens that has to be adopted in order to prevent the occurrence of various disease that cause due to the sudden seasonal variation. The change in season results in the changes in the environment we live in, inturn have influence on the health of human being. In the present era we observe season creep which can be considered as the limitation in following the proper regimen an individual should follow in a particular ritu, because of which there is increased risk of illness. People do not know or ignore the suitable types of food stuffs, dressing, and others regimen to be followed in
particular season, this leads to derangement of homeostasis and causes various diseases. As adaptations according to the changes, is the key for survival, the knowledge of Ritucharya (regimen for various seasons) is thus important.
