Acharya Sushruta explained the Swasthya Lakshanas as, balanced state of Doshas, balanced state of Agni, balanced state of Dhatu, Mala, Kriya and prasannata of Atma, Indriya and manas. Life according to Ayurveda is a conglomeration of the four interdependent components namely, the body (Shareera), the sensory and motor faculties (Indriya), the mind (Satwa), and the soul (Atma). In Ayurveda the functions of the sensory and motor organs and mind have been given special importance. So normal state of manas is very essential to maintain the psychological state of the health. The healthy state is maintained from birth and the three Doshas remain in a balanced state, then the person achieves a balanced constitution, attractive appearance, good muscular strength and complete peace of mind. Acharya Charaka while explaining Satwa Pariksha said that Satwa is nothing but the Manas. Manas play a very important role in the maintenance of the health of an individual. Manas is considered three dimensional in terms of three Gunas- cause of any diseases.
