CONCEPT OF ALLERGY IN AYURVEDA

ABSTRACT
Allergy in modern is any alteration in the state of reactivity of an organism due to contact with any organic substance known as an allergen. An allergen is any chemical substance which is when introduced into body identified by an individual’s immune system which produces antibodies to defend itself. This allergen (antigen) and antibody reaction produce specific allergic features in the body. In this article, data has been collected from our Ayurvedic texts (Samhitas) and their available commentaries on it to describe the concept of allergy in Ayurveda.
