ABSTRACT
This research included studying the factors affecting the adsorption of a number of azo dyes on a thermally commercial activated carbon, such as contact time, concentration, acidity function and temperature. The kinetics of the adsorption processes of the dyes under was also investigated. The experimental data of the adsorption process were found to fit the pseudo-second-order reaction. The values of activation energy and thermodynamic functions of activation were calculated by application Arrhenius equation, and estimating the values of the rate constants at various temperatures. All values of the thermodynamic functions of the activation showed that the forward reaction is preferred over the reverse reaction, so the adsorption process is dominant.
