ABSTRACT
In recent years, ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) has attracted increasing interest as an efficient method for the rapid extraction of a number of compounds from food and environmental samples, with an extraction efficiency comparable to that of classical techniques. Particular attention was paid to the application of ultrasound for the extraction of natural products that usually took hours or days to complete with conventional methods. In this paper, the application of ultrasound to the extraction of active compounds (resveratrol) from vegetable waste from viticulture and fruit growing was investigated. In the experimental program carried out within this work, ultrasonic-assisted extraction tests were performed using a frequency of 20 KHz. The main parameters considered in the investigations on the possibility
of applying ultrasound to the extraction of resveratrol were: extraction temperature, extraction time, ultrasound power, amplitude and solid-liquid ratio of the samples.
Keywords: Ultrasonic extraction, monobloc sonotrode, essential oils, resveratrol.
