Abstract

REVIEW ON MICROWAVE INDUCED SOLID DISPERSION: METHOD FOR SOLUBILITY ENHANCEMENT

Rahul K. Gharal* and Manoj M. Nitalikar

ABSTRACT

The solubility is a characteristic property of any solid. The bioavailability of drug is depending on its solubility. So solid dispersion is an effective way of increasing the dissolution rate of poorly water soluble drug and hence its bioavailability. The hydrophilic carrier used in preparation, helps in increasing the dissolution rate of poorly water soluble drug. Many methods are present for preparation of dispersions, but among them dispersions prepared using microwave induced method is more effective. By using this method Amorphization can be achieved which increases the drug solubility.

Keywords: Solid Dispersion, bioavailability, amorphization, solubility, dissolution rate.
