ABSTRACT

Ethnomedicinally, the plant Mimosa prainiana (Mimosaceae) is utilized for numerous disorders in the traditional system. The primary obstacle accomplished in the standardization of herbal drugs may be due to lack of appropriate identity of plant origin. Hence there arises a need to set up quality control variables by using pharmacognostic and phytochemical analysis, that may assure the purity, safety, and efficiency of the herbal drug Mimosa prainiana. The present study deals with the macroscopical, microscopical & preliminary phytochemical investigation of leaves & stem bark of Mimosa prainiana Gamble. Pharmacognostical & Phytochemical Investigation of Mimosa prainiana Gamble (Mimosaceae).
