ABSTRACT
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is the most common endocrine disorder affecting of about 8 to 12% of women especially in reproductive age group. PCOS is a complex disorder with disserving clinical features including reproductive, metabolic, and mental health complications, It is diagnosed by using the internationally accepted rule called Rotterdam criteria[1] which includes;
Polycystic ovaries of about more than 10 to 12 follicles in an ovary or more than 10cc of ovarian volume.
Oligomenorrhea and or anovulation (less than 8 cycles per year)
Clinically or biochemically diagnosed hyperandrogenism.

Few studies on PCOS have proven that in 13.56% of girls are in
menstrual dysfunction, among these girls rates of about 72.3% of girls were diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. A recent study done by the author A Danililidis and K Dinas (2010)[1] proven that young girls with polycystic ovarian syndrome are more prone to have the higher risk of diabetes mellitus, cancer, cardiac problems. On the basis of screening method, among the reproductive age group women’s population, it is estimated that 4 to 10% were diagnosed with PCOS; especially in adolescents population its frequency ranging from 3 to 26%.
