DUST FAL RATE IN GHAZIABAD AREA OF NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION

ABSTRACT
Dust is one of the significant air pollutants in ambient air of Ghaziabad area of National Capital Region. A study was carried out to ascertain the dust fall rate in four sampling locations in the Ghaziabad residential (1), Commercial (1) Industrial (2) region of Ghaziabad district, Northern India. The sampling was carried out by dust fall jar method and dust fall rate was estimated gravimetrically. Maximum dust fall rate was recorded in Sahibabad industrial region 91.11MT km-2 month-1,and 72.79MT km-2 month-1 in Bulandshahr industrial region, followed by Modinagar commercial region 40.67 MT km-2
Month-1 whereas minimum concentration was found in Rajnagar residential region 31.63 MT km-2 month-1 for January 2017-December 2018 Dust fall rate for the sampling period of January 2017-December 2018 in industrial region was higher as compared to Commercial Region and Commercial region was higher as compared with residential region.
