ORODISPERSIBLE TABLETS AND IT’ S TECHNOLOGIES: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Recent development in the oral administration of medicinal substances comprises of various technologies, many of which may be classified as oral dispersible tablets for the past few years, oral dispersible tablets have become popular than conventional tablets and capsules as well as acknowledge as new drug delivery system due to better patient compliance. ODTs are oral solid dosage forms that quickly disintegtrates inside the mouth and thus swallowed easily without the intake of water. ODTs are useful for elderly, pediatric, geriatric patients who have difficulty in swallowing conventional solid dosage forms. A large number of companies prefer ODTs over other delivery
technologies because it is less risky delivery option to formulate. The present review is focused on new ODTs technologies, suitability of drug candidates and overview of formulations.
