AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF TARUNYAPITIKA W.S.R. TO ACNE VULGARIS – A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT

The disease in which the pitika develop especially on the face of young person (adolescent) are known as Tarunyapitika. In modern Era, many patients suffering from the disease Tarunyapitika due to their fast lifestyle, consumption of junk and fast food, cold drinks, late night sleeping habits etc. lead to imbalance of Doshas which affect body as well as mind too. As per modern science the symptoms of Tarunyapitika are correlated with Acne Vulgaris. Acne is chronic inflammatory disease of pilo sebaceous units of certain body areas (face, neck, chest, back and rarely on buttocks). Tarunyapitika like skin disease can be managed with Ayurvedic therapy. In this article a 19 years old male patient having complaints of Tarunyapitika was treated with oral medication and pathya for 3 months. At the end of the treatment patient got significant improvement.
