Ammar Akram Abdulrazzaq* and Hazima Mossa Alabassi

ABSTRACT

In the current study Spirulina platensis has granted from Cultivation by utilized Zarrock media. Models have laved air Desiccated and homogenized to well powder. The methanol,Acetone, Chloroform and water are solutions utilized for spirulina extraction. Spirulina platensis have succumb to phytochemical anatomy For realizing the minor metabolites existing in extraction. Isolated of Saponins by Using the solvent from Spirulina which extracted by (Aqueous, Methanol, Acetone And Chloroform) and got Saponins from spirulina extracted by water, Spirulina extracted by Methanol, Spirulina extracted by Acetone. And from Spirulina extracted by Chloroform. Purified of Saponins By using Methanol and Acetone after extraction process. And detect the antioxidant of the Saponins which have extracted by the solvent. and detect the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration(MIC) of the Saponins against Gram positive and negative bacteria. Regarding the results obtained with the Saponins, the methanol extract showed better pharmacological activity against Gram Positive and Gram negative bacteria except Proteus mirabilis. At 24 hours, some strains were still growing (Indicated as G in Table 2 & 3), while others were sensitive (Table 2 &3); and at 48 hours. Gram negative bacteria were inhibited by all extracts, with concentrations ranging between 0.0078 to 0.0156 mg/Ml. Saponins showed inhibition capacity for S. aureus, a Gram-positive bacterium, from 0.0156 and 0.0312 mg/mL in Acetone and methanol extracts at 48 hours and 0.0125 and 0.0225 for 24 hours. However, no inhibition was observed against Gram-negative bacteria E. coli and S. Aureus in Water Extract and Chloroform extract. It was found that Saponins which extract from methanol showed the better potential for antimicrobial action except the Proteus mirabilis among of the all extracts during 24 hrs. while no inhibition during 48 hrs. While chloroform extract which showed little effectiveness among of the all extracts as well found inhibition in Mycoplasma pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Proteus mirabilis during 24 hrs. while for 48 hrs. there is resistance against most of the pathogens.
