ABSTRACT
Agnikarma is one of the minor surgical procedure described in Sushruta samhita, which is done by the therapeutic application of Agni (heat). Mashaka is a common skin condition which has been mentioned under Kshudra- Rogas in Ayurvedic classics. Mashaka is painless, hard black eruption on the skin, which can be correlated with an elevated mole as per modern science. In this case study, a patient of 51 years male presented at our O.P.D. of P.G. Department of Shalya Tantra, Rishikul Campus, U.A.U Haridwar, with a complaint of small, blackish outgrowth present on his forehead above the left eyebrow. On clinical basis this lesion was diagnosed as Mashaka (An elevated mole). Agnikarma procedure was performed for this lesion, which is described by Acharya Sushruta. After 4 weeks, lesion was healed up with no any complaint of bleeding, infection of wound, pain and scar.
Since there is no chance of reoccurrence, Agni karma is the best method for the treatment of Mashaka.
