EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS OF ONLINE CLASSES USING FEEDBACK FROM MEDICAL STUDENTS

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Pharmacology is a very important subject in medical education. Proper understanding of this subject is very important for which lecture class is must. But in this corona pandemic, lecture classes has been converted into online classes. To know its effectiveness, feedback of students is very important. So the present study was aimed to get feedback of second year medical students regarding online classes. Method: A structured validated questionnaire was prepared and students were asked to submit after filling it completely. In multiple choice questions, they had to tick mark on the most appropriate option. Results were expressed as percentage. Result: Among 134 students, 107 completely filled the questionnaire. 91.6% of students said that social distancing can only be maintained by online classes but 50.9% said that these classes require more time management and 85.4% said that they are good only for theory classes. 58.5% said that these classes should be along with traditional classroom classes. 51.9% were strongly agree (SA) with classes via video upload and 49% were SA that power point presentation should be along with audio video. Regarding suggestions, most of them suggested that online classes through google meet must be hosted preferably from lecture theatre of colleges which should be equipped with proper internet connection. Conclusion: Online classes are must during COVID era but classes should be taken from proper place with proper internet connection and lecture classes must be followed by discussion to make the lecture more interactive, informative and interesting.
